Inspired by the view from his parents’ home overlooking the Brooklyn shipyard — a landscape of containers stacked like a city — Ilya imagined a single house could be built from them too.
With no prior experience, he taught himself SketchUp, an architectural design application, and spent a year planning the house before building it by hand.
Four containers became a two-story home above a concrete studio — a space for music, art, and gathering.
Shaped by light, reuse, and invention, every detail was crafted or restored by hand.
The result is a living, breathing work of art.
